Due to the forecasted winter storm, Ulster County Government will be operating on a delayed schedule, opening at 12 noon on Monday, February 23*This does not apply to the County’s 24/7 operations or facilities*

Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger and Emergency Services will assess conditions Monday morning, and any additional updates will be posted to the County website ulstercountyny.gov/emergency-notices and County social media channels. 

Please note that UCAT service will be suspended beginning at 4 PM on Sunday, February 22, until further notice.

DPW crews will also be out clearing snow on County roads, as they always do. Please avoid unnecessary travel during the storm. If you must drive, our road closure map displays road closures using data from the County's public safe system, and the road conditions map shows real-time traffic updates and road conditions based on Waze data.

The County will have two warming centers open for those in need: one at Segunda Iglesias Church at 80 Elmendorf St. in Kington, which is open 24/7, and a second warming center at the Hunt Memorial Building at 124 Canal St in Ellenville, which will be operating on a 24/7 schedule until Tuesday.

Due to the forecasted winter storm, the Ellenville warming center has been temporarily activated to a 24-hour schedule until Tuesday 2/24/26. The Ellenville warming center is located in the Hunt Memorial Building at 124 Canal St, Ellenville. The center can be contacted directly at (845) 224-9262.

The Kingston Warming Center at 2nda Iglesia La Mision Church, 80 Elmendorf St, Kingston will remain open on its 24-hour schedule. The center can be contacted directly at (845)-334-0551.

 

The Emergency Services Department coordinates efforts to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters. The Department operates 911 and supports emergency service agencies within Ulster County.

Emergency services includes traditional emergency responders such as police, fire and emergency medical services (EMS), along with the 911 dispatchers and the entire emergency management community. The common goal of all of these groups is to save lives. There are thousands of members of the emergency services community ranging from career personnel to volunteers. These men and women work around the clock to ensure the safety of Ulster County’s citizens. They do it with compassion, dedication and professionalism.
