The Archives is responsible for the identification, arrangement, access and preservation of archival records belonging to Ulster County. Describing archival records is an on-going process. All currently available descriptions are posted and accessible.

The Ulster County Archives is located in the Ulster County Record Center, 300 Foxhall Avenue, Kingston, New York, 12401.

The Archives staff can be reached at 845-340-3415 Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. The Archives is open to researchers on Wednesdays, by appointment only. Please call the Archives to schedule an appointment regarding your record request and any applicable fees.

From The North or South via The New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) take Exit 19 (Kingston). After toll booths, go to stop sign at traffic circle. Enter circle then take 3rd exit (587) off the circle. Move into left lane as you approach the traffic light. At light, make a left turn onto Albany Avenue (Route 32 North). Continue on Albany Avenue to the 2nd traffic light. At the light, turn right onto South Manor Avenue. At the 3rd stop sign, turn left onto O’Neil Street. Go to stop sign and turn right onto Foxhall Avenue. The UC Records Center is almost immediately on your left (just beyond Gage Street) and directly across from Kingston Caps & Trailers. The Records Center is a one-story, beige building. From The South via Route 32 follow Route 32 North to Kingston to the "5-corner" intersection with Greenkill Avenue. There will be a Stewart’s store on your left. Bear right onto Greenkill Avenue and go down the hill to the traffic light. Go up the hill after the light and turn left at the blinking traffic light onto Clinton Avenue. Go to the first traffic light on Clinton Avenue and turn right onto Henry Street (which is Route 32 North again). Proceed on Henry Street until you come to the traffic light at the intersection with Broadway. There will be a Fleet Bank on your left. Cross Broadway and you will be on O’Neil Street. Proceed on O’Neil St. to the end which is at the intersection with Foxhall Avenue. Turn right onto Foxhall Avenue. The UC Records Center is almost immediately on your left (just beyond Gage Street) and directly across from Kingston Caps & Trailers. The Records Center is a one-story, beige building.

From The North via Route 32 follow Route 32 South to Kingston. At the intersection with Route 9W (East Chester Street), go straight (center lane) to Flatbush Avenue (which is still RT. 32 South.) Continue on Flatbush Ave.(crossing the railroad tracks) until you come to the traffic light. This is the intersection of Flatbush and Foxhall Avenues. Turn left at the intersection onto Foxhall Avenue. Proceed on Foxhall Ave. until you see Gage Street on your left. The UC Records Center is almost immediately on your left (just beyond Gage Street) and directly across from Kingston Caps & Trailers. The Records Center is a one-story, beige building. From The South via Route 9w follow Route 9W North through Port Ewen. Do not turn at any of the traffic lights. You want to take the 9W By-Pass over the Rondout Creek until it ends at the intersection with Route 32 (at traffic light.) At the light, turn left onto Route 32 South (Flatbush Avenue.) At the next light, continue straight (center lane) on Flatbush. Stay on Flatbush Ave.(crossing the railroad tracks) until you come to the traffic light. This is the intersection of Flatbush and Foxhall Avenues. Turn left at the intersection onto Foxhall Avenue. Proceed on Foxhall Ave. until you see Gage Street on your left. The UC Records Center is almost immediately on your left (just beyond Gage Street) and directly across from Kingston Caps & Trailers. The Records Center is a one-story, beige building.

From The North via Route 9W follow Route 9W South to Kingston through the Ulster Avenue shopping area and car dealerships beyond. Remain on 9W South until you reach the intersection with Flatbush Avenue (Route 32.) There is a traffic light at this intersection. Turn right onto Flatbush Avenue. Stay on Flatbush Ave.(crossing the railroad tracks) until you come to the traffic light. This is the intersection of Flatbush and Foxhall Avenues. Turn left at the intersection onto Foxhall Avenue. Proceed on Foxhall Ave. until you see Gage Street on your left. The UC Records Center is almost immediately on your left (just beyond Gage Street) and directly across from Kingston Caps & Trailers. The Records Center is a one-story, beige building. From The North/East via Route 209 (After Crossing The Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge) Note: Route 209 begins on the Ulster County side of the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge. After passing through bridge toll booth area, take first exit for Route 32. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto Route 32 South (Flatbush Avenue.) Continue on RT. 32 South, crossing Route 9W (East Chester Street.) Stay on Flatbush Ave.(crossing the railroad tracks) until you come to the traffic light. This is the intersection of Flatbush and Foxhall Avenues. Turn left at the intersection onto Foxhall Avenue. Proceed on Foxhall Ave. until you see Gage Street on your left. The UC Records Center is almost immediately on your left (just beyond Gage Street) and directly across from Kingston Caps & Trailers. The Records Center is a one-story, beige building.

From The South/West via Route 209 follow Route 209 to the Kingston area. Take the exit for Route 28 East. Remain on RT. 28 East to the traffic circle. Enter the circle and take 2nd exit off circle for Route 587 (Col. George Chandler Drive.) Move into left lane as you approach the traffic light. At light, make a left turn onto Albany Avenue (Route 32 North). Continue on Albany Avenue to the 2nd traffic light. At the light, turn right onto South Manor Avenue. At the 3rd stop sign, turn left onto O’Neil Street. Go to stop sign and turn right onto Foxhall Avenue.
