To request a Voter Registration Form:

  • Failitated Through the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles: Click Here
  • To register you will need:
    • your New York State DMV issued driver license, permit or Non-Driver ID
      • it must be your most recently issued document - you will need the ID Number and document number (See Sample Documents)
    • the ZIP Code currently on record with the DMV 
    • the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number (SSN)

Eligibility

To register to vote in New York State you must:

  • be a U.S. citizen;

  • be 18 years old by December 31 of the year in which you file this form (note: you must be 18 years old by the date of the general, primary or other election in which you want to vote);

  • live at your present address at least 30 days before an election;

  • not be in jail for a felony conviction and;

  • not claim the right to vote elsewhere.

2018 Voter Registration, Enrollment, and Address Change

The Political Party Change of Enrollment Deadline for 2018 Primary Elections was October 13, 2017.   Any political Party change made after October 13, 2017 will not take effect until after the General Election of 2018.

2018 State and Local Primary Election September 13, 2018

Primaries will be determined by petitions submitted by July 12

          Polls Open from Noon to 9 pm in Ulster County and all

September 13 State/Local Primary Important Deadlines

  • Last Day to Register to vote for the State/Local Primary Election is August 19
  • Last Day to Postmark an Absentee Ballot Application for the State/Local Primary Election is September 6
  • Last Day to apply in person for Absentee Ballot for the State/Local Primary is September 12
  • Last Day to Postmark an Absentee Ballot return envelope is for the State/Local Primary is Wednesday September 12
  • Last Day to Deliver an Absentee Ballot in person to the Ulster County BOE or any of our poll sites ist tbd before the polls close at 9 pm.

2018 GENERAL ELECTION   TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH, 2018

          Polls Open from 6 am to 9 pm in Ulster County

  • Last Day to Register to vote for the General Election is October 12
  • Last Day to Postmark an Absentee Ballot Application for the General Election is October 30
  • Last Day to apply in person for Absentee Ballot for General Election is November 5
  • Last Day to Postmark an Absentee Ballot return envelope is Monday November 5
  • Last Day to Deliver an Absentee Ballot in person to the Ulster County BOE or any of our poll sites is Tuesday November 6th before the polls close at 9 pm.

The Political Party Change of Enrollment Deadline for the 2019 Election Year will be October 12, 2018
