Posted October 20, 2015

Marlborough, NY- County Executive Mike Hein was joined by Director of Ulster County Tourism Rick Remsnyder and many of the local volunteer organizations last evening to highlight the attractions in the Hamlet of Milton, Town of Marlborough.  Some of the organizations the County Executive addressed included the Milton Train Station Foundation, Inc.; the Milton Engine Company; the Hamlet of Milton Association; and the Milton Landing Committee.  He discussed the many attractions found in the Hamlet of Milton and stressed the importance of community volunteerism.

“The Hamlet of Milton is a hidden gem in a County filled with many treasures,” said County Executive Mike Hein.   “There is something for everyone and I encourage residents and visitors alike to experience all that Milton has to offer, whether is visiting the Milton Train Station which is undergoing an incredible rehabilitation; Milton Landing Park where visitors can picnic, hike, camp, kayak, and fish; or the Sarah Hallock Library and their many wonderful programs and events.   Milton is a beautiful place and many great enhancements are being made thanks to the Hamlet of Milton Association, the Milton Engine Company and the many other community organizations and volunteers.  I want to thank the many volunteers that work so tirelessly to make Milton and all of Ulster County the finest place anywhere to live, visit and raise a family.

Rick Remsnyder, Director of Ulster County Tourism

"The beautification and renovation work in the Hamlet of Milton by businesses and volunteers are truly a testament to the hard word and perseverance of this community," said Ulster County Tourism Director Richard J. Remsnyder. "Located so close to the major tourism attraction The Walkway Over the Hudson, Milton is perfectly positioned to become the gateway to Southern Ulster County.”

Cindy Lanzetta, President of Milton Train Station Foundation, Inc.

"We're very pleased that County Executive Mike Hein is visiting the hamlet of Milton today to recognize all the hard work our volunteers and business people  have done to ensure that our community continues to grow and remains a great place to live, work and visit," said Cindy Lanzetta, President of the Milton Train Station Fundation, Inc.  “We really appreciate his continued support for this part of the County and its efforts to beautify the hamlet and make the waterfront a top tourist attraction with the rehabilitation of the Milton on Hudson Train Station, the scenic boat dock and the improved hiking and camping facilities."
