The Proposal Would Ensure That The Final Resting Place Of Veterans Is Near Their Loved One

Kingston, N.Y. – Today, Ulster County Executive Mike Hein submitted a resolution that would allow for the burial of spouses of Veterans at the Ulster County Veterans’ Cemetery and  pay for the associated costs for any spouse who does not have the financial means to do so, just as the County already does for our Veterans.

“We know in our hearts that all members of our military families sacrifice so much, and we will now pay for any spouse who wishes to join their loved one and does not have the means - because whether it is our freedoms or our future, the truth is we owe our Veterans everything,” said Ulster County Executive Mike Hein.

The Ulster County Veterans Cemetery is located at the New Paltz Rural Cemetery.  The resolution will now be considered by the Ulster County Legislature at its next meeting on April 18th.
