Ulster County Assistant Public Defender recognized by state-wide association
Kingston, NY- Ulster County Assistant Public Defender Heather Toole has been awarded the Kevin M. Anderson Memorial Award by the New York State Defenders Association for her steadfast commitment to justice, compassion and determination. Ms. Toole has been practicing law since 2004 and represents indigent clients in Ulster County Family Court.
"I want to congratulate Heather Toole and thank her for her tireless work, which truly demonstrates she is well-deserving of this award," said County Executive Hein. "On a daily basis she navigates her clients through the perils and unfamiliarity of the Family Court system in pursuit of justice, and does so with compassion and understanding. It is through the dedication of individuals like Heather that allows Ulster County to continue to deliver the high quality of services our residents deserve."
In addition to her zealous representation of her clients in Ulster County Family Court, Ms. Toole serves as a member of the Ulster County Inter-Agency Council on Domestic Violence and mentors local high school students through the schools’ mentoring programs. Outside of the courtroom and her professional affiliations, she is the mother of three young children (ages 4, 5, and 7) and is married to Major Jason Toole, currently serving on active duty with the United States Army.
