Kingston, NY – For anyone hoping to learn how to do business with the local, state and federal governments, County Executive Mike Hein is hosting a free business workshop entitled "Your Business and Government Procurement" on Monday, December 6th from 10 AM-noon in the Legislative Chambers of the County Office Building at 244 Fair Street in Kingston.

"It is essential that our business community has every opportunity to compete for government procurement," said County Executive Mike Hein. "Toward that end, it is a priority of my administration that Ulster County buys from local businesses whenever possible. This workshop should inform local businesses about opportunities to sell their wares not only to Ulster County, but to New York State and the federal government as well."

The workshop will include presenters from Ulster County Purchasing Department, New York State’s Empire State Development office, and the Procurement and Technical Assistance Center. They will answer questions including what items governments buy and how businesses should go about bidding on those items. Representatives from the Ulster County Development Corporation and the Mid-Hudson Small Business Development Center will also be featured in a panel discussion on resources and business assistance available for small businesses.

Space is limited, so advance registration is required. To RSVP or to gain additional information, call 845-340-3400 or email vwor[at]co.ulster.ny[dot]us.
