KINGSTON, N.Y.

(Oct. 14, 2011) – Ulster County residents are now eligible to receive individual assistance to help rebuild homes and businesses damaged by both Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) assistance includes home repair, temporary housing and expenses not covered by insurance or other assistance programs.

Ulster County residents must register with FEMA at www.disasterassistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362. The deadline for disaster assistance is Oct. 28, 2011.

Residents must obtain and secure a registration number to be eligible for the assistance. It is the key to future consideration in the event you discover additional damage after the deadline and/or should your insurance deny or limit the amount of damage claimed.
