Roughly one-third of the lands and waters of Ulster County are publicly-accessible for everyone. Ulster County REConnect evolved out of the production of a printed recreation map enclosed with the 2011 Ulster County Tourism Travel Guide. This initiative is a joint effort between Ulster County Department of Information Services and the Department of the Environment.
Ulster County REConnect is not possible without many agencies and organizations that graciously provided us with their data. Those groups are: Esopus Creek Conservancy, Finger Lakes Trail Conference, Frost Valley YMCA, Mohonk Preserve, New York / New Jersey Trail Conference, NYC Department of Environmental Protection, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, NYS Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation, Scenic Hudson, Ulster County Planning Department and the Ulster County Transportation Council.
