Kingston, NY – Ulster County Executive Mike Hein proclaims the week of April 12 – April 18 as National Library Week in Ulster County. Joining him are Officers from the Ulster County Association of Libraries (UCLA) including: Julie Dempsey, President of UCLA, Director of Highland Public Library; Frank Rees, Treasurer of UCLA, Director of Saugerties Public Library; and Margie Menard, Vice-President of UCLA, Director of Kingston Public Library.
“Libraries provide essential resources, collections and programs for all members of the community. I am pleased to recognize the many libraries throughout the County who strive to meet the educational, informational, cultural, professional and recreational needs of our residents,” said County Executive Hein. “Libraries are an important part of our community providing many resources including: books, ebooks, computer usage, programming, classes, and so much more. Ulster County is fortunate to have 21 outstanding libraries meeting the needs and interests of different people of all ages and demographics and I urge residents to visit their local library this week to learn about what they have to offer.”
