Ulster County Tourism Receives Award 4th Year In A Row
Kingston, NY - County Executive Mike Hein announces that Ulster County Tourism has won the Service Industry Advertising Design Gold Award (SIA Award) for the County’s 2014 Travel Guide. The gold award is the SIA’s top award. The 68-page, full-color guide highlights Ulster County’s many attributes as a travel destination and has been distributed across the country. The award recognizes the publication’s use of strong graphics, photos and copywriting to showcase the County’s rich history, farm-to-table options, numerous events and activities, accommodations, culture and recreational opportunities.
“I am pleased that Ulster County Tourism has been honored with the SIA Award for the 2014 Travel Guide,” said Ulster County Executive Mike Hein. “Our annual Travel Guide helps promote Ulster County as a tourism and travel destination to visitors from New York State, the Northeast and throughout the United States. To win this honor again illustrates the creativity of the Travel Guide as it includes many beautiful areas of our County. We are fortunate to live in an area that offers so many great places to visit, whether you are looking for recreation, dining, lodging or cultural art and history experiences. Congratulations to everyone involved in developing it.”

It is the fourth year in a row that Ulster County Tourism’s Travel Guide has been honored with a nationally recognized Service Industry Advertising Design Award. The SIA Awards recognize outstanding communications via print, television, radio, online media and social media, and is the only awards program to recognize advertising and marketing efforts in the service industry, specifically honoring creativity and communication. There were more than 1,500 total entries from around the country with 276 awards given. This program is also a way for brands to test their marketing campaigns against others nationwide as their efforts are judged by a panel of industry experts for creativity, execution, the application of technology and overall impact.
