Amazing Outpouring Of Support For County Transitional Home For Veterans Continues

Kingston, NY – County Executive Mike Hein met with representatives of the Ulster County Board of Realtors to thank them and their membership at large for the generous sponsorship of four of the eight bedrooms of the Patriots Project home, which includes all of the furnishings and linens.  The County’s transitional home for homeless Veterans will be opening on July 2, 2014, and the County is partnering with Soldier On, a nationally recognized Veterans outreach not-for-profit, in order to offer a continuum of care for the Veterans at the Wurts Street, Kingston location.

“I am so appreciative of the contribution made by the Ulster County Board of Realtors for this very important project,” said County Executive Hein.  “Their donation of four bedrooms will truly help to make this house a home for those Veterans who need assistance in our community.  I want to thank the Ulster County Board of Realtors together with the Potter and Reilly families.  The continuous outpouring of support for the Patriots Project by numerous local businesses and service organizations, church communities and individuals, who want to make a difference, is outstanding.”

"The members of the Ulster County Board of Realtors contributed over $4,000 with the Potter and Reilly families being major contributors, for a total of four of the eight bedrooms donated by the Realtors of Ulster County,” said Sandy Potter, Community Services Committee Member and Chairman of the project to raise funds on behalf of the Ulster County Board of Realtors for the Patriots Project.  “We support County Executive Hein’s vision for the Patriots Project and as realtors, we are delighted that we can give back to the community and help in providing safe shelter to the Veterans that need it.”
