CLINTON AVENUE WARMING CENTER ACTIVATED DUE - Freezing Temperatures Expected
Kingston, NY – Ulster County Executive Mike Hein has activated the County’s warming center hosted by the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church located at 122 Clinton Avenue in Kingston. The warming center will provide a warm shelter, a hot evening meal and breakfast as well as related services at the Church between 6:00 p.m. through 7:00 a.m. and will be open from today through Monday morning. The center will be staffed by American Red Cross trained volunteers and will welcome homeless adults, ages eighteen and above.
“As temperatures fall below freezing, individuals without shelter may find themselves in a life or death situation. We are fortunate to be able to partner with Reverend Darlene Kelley of the Clinton Avenue United Methodist Church to provide a warming center for the local community during this time of the year when there can be extreme cold weather,” said County Executive Mike Hein.
Any homeless adult is encouraged to go to the warming center or if you know someone who is in a desperate situation or is homeless, they can contact the Family of Woodstock hotline which can be reached 24 hours-a-day at 845-679-2485.
