Ulster County Legislator Mary Beth Maio Recognizes Increased Volunteer Community Service Provided By Town Of Lloyd Police Department

(Highland, NY) Stepping out to a community event, Legislator Mary Beth Maio is often comforted by the safety and security provided by the Town of Lloyd Police Department. What has been a relatively new sight are the law enforcement officers serving as volunteers, out of uniform, on an increasing basis. This has been a direct result of the leadership and guidance of Police Chief Daniel Waage.

“I had seen the Police Officers all around town and I didn’t realize until recently how much more volunteer work they have been doing. They are truly a part of the community and it is very much appreciated,” stated Legislator Mary Beth Maio at the Pride Presentation held April 2, 2014 at the Town of Lloyd Town Board Meeting.

From sports games and community holiday events to food and toy drives for the needy, the Town of Lloyd police officers have been a visible presence throughout 2013. For this and their continued efforts in 2014, the Ulster County Legislature’s Pride recognized the Town of Lloyd Police Department’s efforts to shape and strengthen the character of the community and the quality of life for Ulster County citizens.
