The Community Continues To Prepare The Patriots Project To Be A Special Transitional Home For Our Veterans
Kingston, NY – County Executive Hein met with a group of the 9th grade religious education students and CYO members of St. John’s Church of Woodstock to thank them for their contribution of kitchen items for the Patriots Project located at 67 Wurts Street in Kingston. This transitional home for homeless Veterans will soon be open and will allow for easy access to the services the Veterans may need.
“It is so moving that our local youth are willing to contribute their time and energy to provide items that will be used daily by the Veterans as they overcome the obstacles they have been faced with,” said County Executive Hein. “I appreciate the support of St. John’s Church and their 9th grade religious education class and CYO members and I thank them for their assistance in providing kitchen supplies for this critically important project. This is just one more example of how the church communities, many local businesses and service organizations, and individuals have helped to make the Patriots Project so special for our Veterans. This is truly a great community.”
"St. John's appreciates all the work County Executive Hein is doing for homeless veterans,” said Alice Haberski, the Junior-Senior High Religious Education Coordinator of St. John’s Church. “Our 9th grade religious education class and CYO members felt really good about doing this project for the homeless Veterans who gave up part of their lives to make us feel safe."
