Job Fair To Connect Young Adults With More Than 40 Ulster County Area Businesses
Kingston, N.Y. – Ulster County Executive Mike Hein announces that the 10th Annual Ulster County Young Adult Job Fair is being held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm at the Andy Murphy Midtown Center located at 467 Broadway in Kingston. More than 40 businesses from every corner of the county are attending this event to promote jobs in healthcare, banking, recreation, retail and manufacturing. Full-time, part-time and summer jobs are all available. The job fair is open to young people ages 16 to 24.
“Our Young Adult Job Fair is a great opportunity for our young people to find work right here in Ulster County. There will be hiring managers with real job openings at this event. This is a great opportunity for any young person who is looking for a job, whether they are seeking a full-time, part-time or summer position. We urge you to join us to find what you have been looking for,” said County Executive Mike Hein. “Jobs not only help young people learn vital skills and gain experience to assist them with their future endeavors, it also benefits the employers and their business.”
“We are delighted with the response we have received from businesses,” said Lisa Berger, Director of Ulster County’s Office of Employment and Training and Workforce Development Board. “We have hiring managers looking for applicants that they can grow into long-term employees, therefore job seekers should have résumés with them and be dressed for an interview.”
Anyone attending this year’s job fair will be entered into a drawing for a Kindle Fire which is being generously donated by Key Bank. Attendees will also be eligible for a $25 iTunes gift card.
The Young Adult Job Fair is organized by an Ad Hoc Committee of the Ulster County Workforce Development Board with staff support from Ulster County’s Office of Employment and Training.
Young adults attending the job fair should come “dressed to impress.” Clothes that are clean, neat and professional are preferred. Young adults should bring copies of their résumé. If they do not have one printed out, résumés on a USB drive or emailed to themselves will be able to be printed onsite.
