KINGSTON, NY - Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger today announced the opening of Round 2 of the Ulster County Food Security Grant Program, with $410,000 in funding available to support food security eff orts across the County. The County has again partnered with Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley to administer the grant program, with applications accepted through October 15.

Posted: August 19, 2025INGSTON, NY - Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger has signed Local Law No. 5 of 2025, amending the County’s Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) tax incentive law to strengthen its alignment with Ulster County’s housing goals. The amendment clarifies eligibility requirements for the real property tax exemption granted to homeowners who construct ADUs on their property, which is meant to encourage ADUs for housing.

Suggs succeeds Esi Lewis, who will be departing County government to focus full-time on her role as Executive Director of the Dr. Margaret Wade-Lewis Center for History and Culture in New Paltz. Lewis has served as Chief Diversity Officer since January 2023, when the position was elevated to the Executive Office.
