I want to especially thank People’s Place for making this possible – it is very important and it is greatly appreciated.”

Lisa Berger, Director, Ulster County Office of Employment & Training/Workforce Development Board

“We are grateful to People’s Place for hosting Perfectly Polished. They’ve taken the idea of providing career-wear to young people and expanded it by adding free hairstyling and makeup assistance. Looking neat and professional goes a long way towards making a lasting impression on a potential employer. We are hoping to expand this event with even more Career Readiness activities in the future,” said Lisa Berger, Director of Ulster County Office of Employment and Training and Workforce Development Board. “I would encourage all young people between the ages of 16 to 25 to walk through the job fair – even if they aren’t looking for a job right now. We have jobs that will put someone new to the workforce on a productive career path as well as a wonderful array of summer and part-time jobs. Who knows? They may find something they didn’t even know they were looking for.”

Acting County Executive Reiter continued, “The Young Adult Job fair is organized by an Ad Hoc Committee of the Ulster County Workforce Development Board, with staff support from Ulster County’s Office of Employment and Training.  We are so proud of this great event and thank all who have worked so hard to make it successful.  We are hopeful that as many young people as possible take advantage of this opportunity.”

Young adults should bring copies of their résumé if they have one.  If they do not have one printed out, resumes on a USB drive or emailed to themselves can be printed onsite.
