KINGSTON, N.Y. - County Executive Pat Ryan and Commissioner of Health Dr. Carol Smith held a Telephone Town Hall today with over 10,000 participants to take questions directly from residents on COVID-19. Executive Ryan and Commissioner Dr. Smith answered questions ranging from how to get tests to assisting senior citizens who may need additional support.

“When people are informed, everyone is safer. From the moment we announced our first case, I have made it a priority to be transparent and share as much information as we can with our residents,” County Executive Pat Ryan said. “Thank you to the thousands of residents who joined and we will continue to keep sharing information as we get it.”

Last week, County Executive Ryan declared a State of Emergency. He also directed the closure of all County schools and that the County will be suspending in-person County services for a two-week period to commence on Monday, March 16th. As of today, the total number of cases in which an individual tested positive for COVID-19 in Ulster County remains at 5. In addition, the COVID-19 tests associated with individuals who have had direct daily contact within the City of Kingston School District have come back negative.
