KINGSTON, N.Y. - “I applaud the recent decision in State Supreme Court regarding Joseph Karolys. His reckless actions have threatened the health and public safety of the residents of Saugerties. This decision will allow us to take the necessary steps against someone who has shown deep disdain for their neighbors, the environment, and the law. As County Executive, I will not stand by idly as someone pollutes and disrespects our community. Ulster County will not now or ever tolerate dumping and those who wish to pollute our County. I look forward to working with the Town of Saugerties and Sheriff Figueroa to ensure that this situation is remedied as quickly as possible.”
