Ulster County Residents Receive Awards for Volunteer Activity
Kingston, NY- Esther Coppola and Rafael Diaz were recently announced as the 2011 Ulster County Seniors of the Year at the Hillside Manor in Kingston by Ulster County Executive Mike Hein. The two were recognized by the County Executive at the annual Ulster County Centenarian Luncheon for their efforts to enhance the lives and well being of others in their communities.
"In concept, I am supportive of New York State’s proposal to move Belleayre Mountain Ski Resort under the purview of the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA). ORDA will keep the facility in public hands, provide a management structure with ski facility experience and protect our local environment. This commitment to the long-term capital investment in the Belleayre Mountain Ski Center is good news for the tourism economy of Ulster County.
Kingston, NY –This morning, County Executive Mike Hein signed a resolution adopting a local law (a link to the law is below) which creates 23 single-member legislative districts for election of Ulster County legislators in November 2011. This is the first time in Ulster County history that an independent body drew the legislative district lines. Commissioner Members included: Paul Benkert, Vernon Benjamin, Michael Catalinotto, Cynthia Lowe, Richard Messina, Dare Thompson and William West.
Kingston, N.Y. - Ulster County Executive Mike Hein and Ulster County Clerk Nina Postupack invite the public to visit and enjoy the Matthewis Persen House. The Persen House will offer extended hours and free public tours during its fourth summer season.
