County Executive Mike Hein And Ulster County Veteran Services Agency Announce The Opening Of The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall At Cantine Veterans Memorial Complex In Saugerties
Posted July 17, 2018Saugerties, N.Y. - Ulster County Executive Mike Hein is pleased to announce the opening of the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall at Cantine Veterans Memorial Complex in Saugerties. An opening ceremony will be held starting at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 19 with an invocation by the Reverend Leroy Ness (Vietnam, 1969), welcome remarks from County Executive Hein, and a keynote address by Colonel Roger Donlon, (MOH, 1964). The ceremony will be emceed by Tom Andreassen (Vietnam, 1966-67), member of American Legion Post 72.
Statement from Ulster County Executive Mike Hein Regarding Enactment of State-Wide Pharmacy Takeback Law
Posted July 10, 2018In response to news that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has signed into law the Drug Take Back Act, Ulster County Executive Mike Hein today issued the following statement:
“I want to thank Governor Andrew Cuomo for signing into law this critically important bill, which requires drug companies and chain pharmacies to take back unused pharmaceuticals. This accomplishment represents the culmination of two years of advocacy and effort, and will play a critical role in reducing the amount of opioids on our streets, and – in turn – will help save lives.
