County Executive Ryan announces that the County will move its primary vaccination site from the Kate Walton Field House at Kingston High School to the former Best Buy location at the Hudson Valley Mall
The move will allow for up to 2,500 doses to be administered a day with 300 parking spots for residents
“New Yorkers must have full trust and confidence in our leaders, especially at such a critical point in our pandemic response. Governor Andrew Cuomo has fundamentally broken the public trust — violating and harassing his staff, misleading those he was elected to serve, and repeatedly putting politics ahead of the public good. Governor Cuomo should do the right thing and resign, enabling our state to begin to heal and move forward. I have full confidence in the integrity and steady leadership of Lieutenant Governor Hochul to guide us through this turbulent period.”
Located at the Ulster County Fair Grounds in the Town of New Paltz, the new location will further expand access for Ulster County residents, especially those living in the southern part of the county
The additional vaccination site is in response to County Executive Ryan’s request for New York State to open a site in Ulster County to address concerns of vaccine equity and access
Tomorrow, March 8th marks one year since Ulster County had its first confirmed case of COVID-19
“March 8th marks one year since Ulster County was notified of our first case of COVID-19. What followed that day was a year of challenge and crisis, but it also highlighted our resilience and sense of community. Sadly, we have lost over 200 of our neighbors and loved ones to this horrific virus and the heart-wrenching reality is that, although we have made great progress, we’re still very much in it.
The action plan recommends the creation of an ongoing Housing Task Force, partnerships with developers to build housing within the fabric of existing neighborhoods on vacant lots, adaptive reuse of existing structures for housing, the creation of supportive and transition housing and the establishment of housing funds for housing initiatives in the County
