Olivebridge, NY – County Executive Mike Hein and the Ulster County Economic Development Alliance (UCEDA) will be sponsoring the 1st Annual Catskill Conf this weekend (October 23 – 25) at the Ashokan Center.  Catskill Conf is a conference for “technologists” from the New York City area and beyond which will include presentations by experts in various technology-related fields as well as the opportunity for attendees to practice blacksmithing and other traditional arts.

The New York State Comptroller Ranks Ulster County The Fourth Most Fiscally Stable County Across New York State

Kingston, NY- Ulster County Executive Mike Hein has announced that for the second consecutive year Ulster County government has been highlighted as the most fiscally stable in the Mid-Hudson Region according to the New York State Comptroller’s 2014 Fiscal Stress Monitoring System List released today.  Ulster County’s fiscal score of 9.6% places it tied for fourth across New York’s 62 counties and first among counties in the Mid-Hudson Region.

Kingston, NY – County Executive Mike Hein invites Ulster County residents to a free ‘Starting a Business at 50+’ workshop on Wednesday, August 5th at 8:30 AM at the Business Resource Center in Kingston.  Ulster County Executive Mike Hein will present a panel with Ulster County Office of Economic Development Director Suzanne Holt; Ulster Savings Bank VP of Commercial Lending Stephen Hack; and Mid-Hudson SBDC Senior Counselor Al Griggs.  Those interested in attending are asked to register for this half day program at sbdc[at]sunyulster[dot]edu

Kingston, NY – This morning, County Executive Mike Hein launched a comprehensive marketing initiative titled “Do Business Differently in Ulster County” with the goal of attracting tech entrepreneurs from New York City to relocate themselves, their families and their businesses to Ulster County.  He was joined by members of Ulster’s growing tech community.
