ULSTER COUNTY ELECTRICAL LICENSING EXAM INSTRUCTIONS
(BASED ON THE 2017 NEC)
Master Electrician
Tests consists of 26 multiple choice questions, with a 120-minute time limit
A grade of 75% or higher is required to pass this exam
- The first 10 questions are valued at 2 points each
- The remaining 16 questions are 2-part questions, the first part is the multiple choice, which are valued at 2 points each, the second part requires the complete article and/or table to be cited from the 2017 NEC code book, the citing’s are valued at 3 points each
Read instructions carefully
- For each question, circle the correct answer. Only circle one answer. If you change your answer, draw an X through the answer you do not want to select
- List the article, and/or table used to arrive at your conclusion on the line below your answer for the last 16 questions
- Show all math calculations or explain your conclusion on the line below your answer
- All correct multiple-choice answers are valued at 2 points each, so answer all questions
- Citing’s are valued at 3 points each so a minimum of 8 correct citing’s are required to achieve a passing grade.
