The Ulster County Attorney’s Office is seeking an attorney for a part-time position beginning June 1, 2018. Candidates must have a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school, be admitted to practice law in New York State, and be in good standing. Experience in general legal practice or with any or all of the following areas: Litigation, family law, municipal law, or criminal law.
The position will be concentrated in juvenile delinquency and adolescent offender matters, but the attorney may be asked to assist in other legal matters for the County. The attorney will have access to a legal secretary for preparation of documents, but will work mostly outside the County Attorney’s Office.

Special Requirement for appointment to Ulster County positions: In accordance with Ulster County Legislative Local Law Number 14 of 2007 or by other State and Federal Statutes, candidates for employment to all Ulster County positions must obtain clearance for appointment from the Department of Criminal Justice Services or other mandated Federal and State regulatory authority based upon fingerprinting and a criminal history background check.
