KINGSTON, NY - Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger has released the following open letter to county residents:
“Dear Citizens of Ulster County:
KINGSTON, NY - Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger has sent a letter to officials at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) calling for a withdrawal of the proposed revisions to the Ashokan Reservoir Interim Release Protocol (IRP).
KINGSTON, NY - Ulster County Executive Jen Metzger responded today to a letter sent by Ulster County Town Supervisors and Mayors reacting to the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio and the ensuing environmental disaster caused by the leak and combustion of hazardous materials transported by the train.
Kingston, NY—Enri Gjinaj, age 34, of New Rochelle, NY, was convicted of two Counts of Criminal Contempt in the First Degree following a four-day jury trial before the Honorable Bryan Rounds, beginning February 14 and concluding on February 17, 2023. Defendant faces up to eight years in state prison. He is currently remanded to the Ulster County Jail pending sentence.
