Ulster County District Attorney Announces Indictment of Kingston Man for February 11, 2023 West Hurley Attempted Murder
Posted October 12, 2023Kingston, NY-- On Thursday October 12, 2023, Mainor Sagastume, age 33, of Kingston, New York, was arraigned on an indictment by an Ulster County Grand Jury for the Felonies of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Stalking in the Second Degree and two counts of Stalking in the Fourth Degree. Defendant waived extradition from Florida. Defendant was remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail by the Honorable Bryan Rounds.
Former Ulster County Commissioner of Finance Burt Gulnick Pleads Guilty to Two Counts of Grand Larceny
Posted October 10, 2023Ulster County District Attorney David Clegg today announced that Chief Assistant District Attorney, Emmanuel Nneji, and Senior Assistant District Attorney, Felicia S. Raphael, secured a guilty plea on October 10, 2023, from former Ulster County Finance Director Burton Gulnick, Jr., in connection with the theft of tens of thousands of dollars from a local not-for-profit, as well as monies from an election campaign account. Sentencing is scheduled for January 19, 2024, at 3PM.
Ulster County DA’s Office Announces Jury Conviction of Highland Man for Rape
Posted October 5, 2023Kingston, NY—Charles Burgher, age 32, of Highland, NY was convicted of five counts of rape in the second degree and three counts of criminal sexual act in the second degree following a fourday jury trial before the Honorable James Farrell. Defendant faces significant period of incarceration in state prison when he is sentenced; he was remanded without bail pending sentencing on December 8, 2023.
