Ulster County District Attorney’s Office Announces Indictment of Ellenville Man for Attempted Murder

Kingston, NY—On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, Jordan Cutler, age 35, of Ellenville, New York, was indicted by an Ulster County Grand Jury for the Felonies of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the First Degree, and Strangulation in the First Degree stemming from a domestic incident on September 20, 2023 in the Village of Ellenville. 

The defendant is alleged to have choked his mother, then he cut her neck with a kitchen knife.  Village of Ellenville Police were first to respond to the scene. Defendant stated to officers, “I tried to kill my mother.” Defendant was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing and remanded without bail by the Honorable Charles Dechon; he will be arraigned in Ulster County Court at a future date. 

Defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The case is being prosecuted by General Felonies and DWI Bureau Chief Paul Derohannesian. The defendant is represented by the Ulster County Public Defender’s Office.
