"As County Executive, one of my most important responsibilities is to effectively manage our budget and be a good steward of taxpayer funds. I expect every leader and member of my administration to do the same.
"We are closely monitoring the water situation in the Village of New Paltz. Protecting the health and safety of our residents is my number one priority. From the moment that we learned about the potential water issue our Department of Health and our Emergency Management team were on the scene and assisting local and state officials. We have been working to help secure and deliver alternative water sources for impacted community members. Free water bottles are available at Village Hall.
The proposed new Red Route expands service to the Lucas/Washington Avenue corridor with service to Dietz Stadium and Forsyth Park, an area that was not part of the route. The proposed new Blue Route provides direct access to Kingston Hospital, a key concern of riders. For the Yellow Route, the Jansen Avenue transfer point will be eliminated and direct service between the Kingston Plaza and Port Ewen is proposed.
KINGSTON, N.Y. – Today, Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) held a public meeting to provide additional information and provide for an opportunity for public comment regarding the proposed $0.50 base fares for the Red, Yellow and Blue Routes scheduled to begin on April 1, 2020. UCAT personnel in collaboration with the Ulster County Planning Department and the Ulster County Executive’s Office also presented revised routes that will maximize the number of residents and destinations served within the City of Kingston.
KINGSTON, N.Y. - “Given the ongoing issues involving the global Novel Coronavirus outbreak, we continue to closely monitor activities to ensure the public’s health and safety here at home in Ulster County. Currently, there are no known or suspected cases of the Novel Coronavirus in Ulster County and the County Health Department is working closely with State and federal health agencies to ensure every possible precaution is put in place.
