Ulster County Executive Mike Hein Files Resolution Urging The United States Congress To Intervene In Proposed Closing Of Newburgh Postal Facility
The Proposed Closing Would Adversely Affect Delivery Of All Classes Of Mail As Well As Over 350 Current Employees
Kingston, NY — Today, Ulster County Executive Mike Hein filed a resolution with the Ulster County Legislature which urges Congressional intervention into the proposed closure of the United States Postal Service’s Mid-Hudson Processing and Distribution Center. The facility employs over 350 individuals and is estimated to generate $33.5 million in labor income and $4.5 million in business income to the Mid-Hudson region.
