Title VI

Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) operates its programs and services without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Anyone who believes they have been excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise subjected to discrimination under any UCAT program or activity because of their race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability may file a discrimination complaint with UCAT or the Federal Transit Administration. The written complaint must be filed within 180 days from the date of the alleged discrimination.

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 states “No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” (42 U.S.C. § 2000d)
