Prosecution in Local Criminal Courts
Each year, the District Attorney's Office prosecutes thousands of criminal cases in the twenty-two justice courts throughout Ulster County. Assistant District Attorneys are required to appear in all of these courts which meet both day and night. In Ulster County, with few exceptions, the Assistant District Attorneys must be present in the court from arraignment through disposition.

Service with Police Agencies
The District Attorney provides prosecution support services to all law enforcement agencies in Ulster County. These agencies consist of the Ulster County Sheriff's Department, the New York State Police Department, the Kingston City Police Department, and the Town and Village Police Departments throughout the County. We also work with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, federal law enforcement agencies, the State Attorney General's Office, the New York State Insurance Department, and the SPCA.
Traditionally the Ulster County District Attorney's Office has had limited resources to conduct investigations. Our forensically trained investigator, who is also an Assistant District Attorney, aids in investigations which have had a genesis within another investigative unit.
