Test Uncover Illegal Dumping of Heavy Metals and Pesticides
Kingston, N.Y. – Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan today announced the issuance of an order to immediately cease and desist the dumping of dangerous materials at the Keryols properties in Saugerties.
The order, issued through the County Health Department, requires that the properties stop receiving, “construction and demolition debris contaminated with heavy metals and pesticides.” The order asks for an immediate end to such practices.
Ulster County Office Building Will Be Open as an Emergency Cooling Center this Weekend
Kingston, N.Y. – With temperatures expected in the high 90’s, Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan is opening up the County Office Building this weekend for those who may need a place to cool off. The first floor of the Ulster County Office Building will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 10:00AM to 8:00PM. Additionally, cooling locations are being set up throughout Ulster County with the assistance of municipal governments.
UCAT Ridership Up, Additional Improvements Made from Feedback
KINGSTON, N.Y. – Ulster County announced UCAT bus ridership has sharply risen since the July 1st expansion with Citibus. After reviewing the data and hearing community feedback, County Executive Pat Ryan announced several new initiatives; a new service area, a help hotline, adjusted bus times, and a new public outreach campaign.

KINGSTON, N.Y. - Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan, joined by members of the Ulster County Legislature and Judith Enck, former U.S. EPA Regional Administrator, gathered on Friday to kick-off of the Ulster County Bring Your Own Bag Act. The event was held at the Kingston Plaza and highlighted the readiness of local businesses and consumers for the new law, which goes into effect on Monday.
