Although exceedingly rare, the Powassan virus and other tick-borne diseases are a serious threat and I encourage everyone to be extra vigilant when taking part in outdoor activities. I have directed our Health Commissioner and County departments to take every step necessary to help prevent the spread of tick-borne diseases including the implementation of an expanded public awareness campaign.”

KINGSTON, N.Y. – Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan announced today that the County has maintained its strong ‘AA’ overall credit rating in the latest S&P Global Ratings report. The County’s rating is a result of strong, financial management, budgetary performance, budgetary flexibility, liquidity, and debt and contingent liability position. The County was also noted for its economic growth.
