County Executive Pat Ryan and Mayor Steve Noble Kickoff UCAT Expansion
KINGSTON, N.Y. - Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan and City of Kingston Mayor Steve Noble kicked off the new Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) expansion by taking the bus and listening to riders. Starting today, all routes within the City of Kingston are free through 2019 and riders will now have access to free Wi-Fi.
With rents and home prices rising in New York City, residents looking for cheaper options have found it in the Hudson Valley. In towns like Saugerties, New Paltz, Wallkill and Kingston, city folk have found more affordable living (median home price is $220,000) only two hours from Midtown with nearby Amtrak, MetroNorth and direct buses.

Construction To Begin This Year on Long-Awaited Training Facility in the Town of Ulster
County Executive Pat Ryan and Sheriff Juan Figueroa Outline New Procedures for Collecting Immigration Status, Handling ICE Warrants
KINGSTON, N.Y. – Joined by immigration advocates and religious leaders from throughout Ulster County, County Executive Pat Ryan and Sheriff Juan Figueroa announced new operating procedures that are designed to halt cooperation with federal immigration officials, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) officers.
First Bill Signed by County Executive Pat Ryan
KINGSTON, N.Y. – Joined by members of the Ulster County Legislature, Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan signed his first bill into law. The “Skip the Straw” law, makes single-use plastic drinking straws an on-demand commodity at eateries across Ulster County. Under the new law, restaurants and fast-food establishments are prohibited from providing single-use plastic straws unless requested by a patron.
