Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

Provides screening and clinics, home visits to identified high-risk infants and children for assessment and counseling on elevated blood lead levels.

NYSDOH Newborn Screening Program

Blood collection for newborn metabolic diseases such as PKU testing.

Physically Handicapped Children's Program& Children With Special Health Care Needs

These programs ensure access to quality health care for chronically ill and disabled children.

Perinatal Hepatitis B Program

Identification and vaccination of infants born to mothers carrying the Hepatitis B virus.

Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program

Provides food vouchers, health counseling and education to qualifying pregnant and nursing women, infants and children under age 5. Eligibility is evaluated by three components:

  1. Applicants must live in New York State.
  2. Applicants must meet the federal eligibility requirements.
  3. Applicants must have a nutritional risk factor determined by the WIC staff.
